John and Alison McDermott will be your hosts and escorts. Both come from pioneer New Zealand families. They have three school age children and are fully involved in the Auckland region community.
John’s career has included service as a NZ Police Officer and a management role in New Zealand’s wool exporting business. He has had a prominent role in Rugby Union football representing Auckland, Manawatu, NZ Universities, and reaching final All Black Trial selection. John is an experienced international surfer, a strong swimmer and a practical scuba diver. He has also participated in international blue water ocean racing.
Alison has a law degree, was a partner in a large Auckland law practice prior to concentrating on bringing up their family. She has wide and warm community contacts. The couple have homes in Auckland and on the beautiful Coromandel Coast.
